Max Fulton

Max is an Australian and UK passport holder who is admitted to the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Victoria and the High Court of Australia. He holds an MBA from Monash University and LL.M., LL.B. and B.A. from Sydney University.

He is a long-term and highly experienced consultant across risk, governance, compliance and regulatory areas globally. He is also a non-executive director on the boards of 5 companies. He is the Chair of the Boards’ Legal, Risk and Corporate Governance Committees and the Nomination & Remuneration Committees on 3 life insurance companies operating out of Dubai.

Career Highlights:

  1. Governance & Legal Counsel to an international mining company, which has its headquarters in Singapore. The role includes liaising with the SGX, instructing Singapore and Malaysian solicitors and advising on the company’s IPO and compliance/regulatory issues.
  2. Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Governance, and Structuring/Change Management Adviser to the wholly owned subsidiary of a major Bank. Max provides several services including INED and advising on AML/CFT/FCC/Sanctions, regulation, governance and re-structuring.
  3. Consultant/Project Manager, Assignment in Jakarta, Indonesia. In 2016 and 2017 Max worked in Jakarta on behalf of the Australian Government as Senior Enterprise Risk Management Adviser on a project for the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Governance.
  4. Financial Services Commission, Mauritius – Director of Surveillance. From April 2012 to May 2014, Max was Director of Surveillance at the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius and was responsible for regulation of the international financial services sector in Mauritius, including Global Business; Investment Funds & Intermediaries; Capital Markets (including investment banks) and Insurance & Pensions.
